…and this will be closed again - it is just the way it is 🙂 . The airport has the property “always flatten”, probably because the underlying mesh is too rough to allow operation of aircraft on it. This was done by RonB, one of the most seasoned artists we have, so I have no doubt that it was justified.
Unfortunately this flattening will affect the vicinity of the airport as well - including coastlines and water and can lead to these artifacts.
The next mesh in the next version of XPlane may support turning “always flatten” off again - and this will re-enable a better presentation of the coastline.
