i cannot see airport buildings and terminals in x plane 11 (Indira gandhi international airport)
same issues with omdb(dubai).
only scenery and taxiways and runways are visible.

  • Jan Vogel December 25, 2016 10:45 AM

OMDB works fine (I just checked in XP11pb3), and I suspect VIDP as well. The user has most likey screwed up his scenery setup (disabled global airports) or the rendering settings...

I suggest to close this bug as false alarm.

  • Jennifer Roberts December 26, 2016 8:49 AM

Most likely rendering settings need to be turned up.

This airport has been reworkd in las years, but the new runway is still wrong positioned, especially concerning its length.
But worse of all, the mesh at the airport place is not flat and the new part of the airport is unusable. Please at least FORCE the flattening of the airport area in next x-plane releases!

  • Guillaume AMELINE February 20, 2017 2:09 AM

    Hi,
Maybe you can correct it yourself and upload the result on the scenery gateway with WED? It would be a nice contribution. The manual provided on this website is very well done, and there are many tutorial videos available on youtube as well. I think that would be the fastest way to have any correction you can think about done.

  • Guillaume AMELINE February 20, 2017 2:10 AM

PS : I'm just a random user, contributing on the gateway.

  • MadMat February 21, 2017 6:08 AM

The problem is not the airport itself, but the mesh under it. I think it could be updated and fixed so "rwys follow terrain" option can work correctly.

  • Guillaume AMELINE February 22, 2017 2:14 AM

Exactly. You can't fix that with WED. Either you set a boundary around the airport, and then the flattening option will work. Or you check "always flatten" when you select the name of the airport in the right column of WED (1.5.1r1). This way you don't need to flatten every airport to have this on appear as you wish.

  • MadMat February 22, 2017 8:19 AM

I know. But all versions of VIDP on the gateway are full of taxiway errors and I have to fix all of them. WED 1.6b1 says to reverse some taxiways...i do it and then it say to reverse them again...in practice I have to redesign the airport from zero.
Better to fix the mesh once and for all.

  • MadMat February 22, 2017 8:44 AM

The ONLY WAY to fix the problem with this airport is to MANUALLY ADD 1302 flatten=1 option in the XP11 default apt.dat.
Trying to edit the airport in WED 1.6b1 (using the APPROVED gateway airport) reports too many problems with taxiways positioning (i do not really understand this kind of problems) and in WED 1.51 reports an error importing the airport itself, so there is no way to fix it with WED, unless redo all the airport from zero.

Please flatten the default airport so in future updates the airport will be usable and not full of bumps, OR fix the mesh itself OR give te possibility to flatten ALL airports in XP11 (worse solution).
    Thanks

  • Jennifer Roberts February 22, 2017 8:48 AM

If WED 1.6 is giving incorrect validation errors, please file a bug on the WED bug report page. We would like to have as much info as possible to look into it.

You can close this report I think...

Trying to fix VIDP airport (always flatten is required because of the bumpy mesh), I continuosly receive taxiway orientation validation errors, that even if corrected as suggested they are still present.
Check with VIDP airport.

VIDP in XPlane currently only has runway 29, a volunteer Gateway Scenery artist needs to add the missing runway.

CaptainMonis commented on January 11, 2025 7:37 AM

Hey folks. There was a really good version of this airport by a guy named Avinash C on on X-Plane.Org , however its quite an old version, and Avinash isn't that active anymore, so taxiways, runways etc are inaccurate. So if any of you guys would be interested in working on / updating it, here's the link. However, if someone could add the new runway and fix the taxiways, I'd really appreciate it, as VIDP really needs some improvement! X----------X----------X----------X

My apologies, just as I was typing this, I realized his scenery page was taken down. Hence, if any of you want the file, I have it saved, so you can email me at captainmahir777@gmail.com and please title your email with VIDP SCENERY FILE and I'll send it over.

Cheers and Happy Landings!
