XP11 localmap correctly reads the contents of Custom Scenery folder, but the XP 11 GPS & FMS DO NOT!
Steps to re-create bug. Download Scenery Pack for Animas Air Park (00C) from Gateway, install it in XP11 Custom Scenery folder. Using good text editor open the apt.dat in the 00C Scenery Pack and change the Airport name from 'Animas Air Park' to 'Animas Air Park Custom Scenery'. Go to the '\Resources\default scenery\default apt dat\Earth nav data\apt.dat' and edit the line '1 6684 0 0 00C Animas Air Park' to read '1 6684 0 0 00C Animas Air Park Default'. Start XP11 and load the default 737-800 at 00C, press 'm' to display map, zoom in and select VFR mode and click on 00C, select details, on FMS select [INDEX], DATABASE>, 00C LSK1, take screenshot to show map shows 00C as 'Animas Air Part Custom Scenery', but FMS displays 'ANIMAS AIR PART DEFAULT'. Repeate the same bug with the default C172 and the GNS530.

This is "functions as designed"-- the GPS and FMS only display airport information that is from the Gateway and included in the default data. If we allowed for all custom sceneries to add or overwrite information for the GPS, chaos and insanity would ensue.
For changes to be applied to the data, submit revised scenery to the Gateway.

Hi Jennifer, I had a feeling that might be the case, once you removed the user 'edit' function on XP11's local map. re
