82949 is not part of XP 12.1.0
The one from stock still has auto-gen trees on the apron, which this build fixes.

It is part of XP 12.1.0, the issue you experience though lies with the fact that all XP11 exclusion zones were removed for the XP12 scenery cut. So what prevented forests from showing in XP11 no longer apply. New exclusion zones would need to be placed to correct this issue.

I'm not sure I understand. I downloaded 82949 from the gateway, and it does not behave the same as the stock scenery. Are you saying that the download version and the stock version are, in fact, not the same?
Because if so, that is what I meant by "not part of XP12", ie. they are not the same
And just to clarify, I am only talking about XP12 here.

I cannot confirm this behavior in default X-Plane 12.1.0 nor in the 82949 scenery pack that I downloaded, see attached images. Airport appears as intended. Initial reference image reveals terrain not plausible with default X-Plane. This is likely a conflict with third party scenery/forests/overlays sitting above the Global Airports. Recommendation is to confirm proper order in your scenery_packs.ini

Ah my bad, I forgot to mention that I had indeed set up autoortho there, apologies for the confusion. So it's likely that xOrganizer did not re-order the scenery properly, and installing the scenery pack on its own placed it on top, which solved the issue and led me to believe it was different from the stock XP version. All good and sorry again
