Working on some French airport, and toggling NAVAID, the NAVAID airport position is sometimes wrong while the Airport Datum Lattitude and Longitude are usually right. Why do not force the NAVAID airport position to the Airport Datum location ?

WED’s navaid layer in not intended to display the airports datum position, as this position will not create any visible objects in the sim at all.

The airport icon (which isn't a radio location navaid after all) is shown at the centroid of scenery currently available on the gateway, intended to allow scenery designers to find adjacent or overlapping airport sceneries.

OK, understood, but I essentially also referring to all airports who are misplaced and where the airport Navaid is out of boundaries when they are located at the good position. I opened some cases, may be I was wrong. No problem if airport icon is moved at the centroid of new location when new submission. If not , my suggestion was an easy way to fix this.

Again - there is no “Airport navaid” as such in X-plane at all.

The may be airports with (at times even grossly) improper airport datum - we have validation to prevent this for new submissions and you will be asked to update it then.

I think you may the asking for some help in placing that location - which would be a valid WED feature request. But the navaid layer would IMO be a illogical and misleading location to display such information about the current scenery: All background layers are only displaying invariant information obtained from data sources outside of the custom scenery system.

I just see that it was just a problem of displaying this "purple round in WED". In fact the NAVAIDs are OK. In the first attached file (LFHA), I added a blank arrow to visualize the airport position as show in Datum Lat and Long. And this is the good position when I look at the Map in X Plane (2nd and 3rd attached file). So, I don't catch where is the issue but the fact is that in this case there is about 250m distance between the 2 points.

Strange, only the 3rd file appears so I made a new attachement with the 3 images in a single file
