Airport N79 is a valid option to choose for a departure, however the map doesn't register that you are at an airport when it loads, and you cannot navigate using the FMC because it doesn't recognize N79 at all.

I cannot reproduce this. I was able to enter this airport into both the default GPS & FMS and pick arrivals.
