A number of gateway airports, particularly small, private and seaplane base, have a fictitious unusable ID assigned. A search of the gateway using "XC" as the ID reveals 45 pages of these IDs. Most if not all VAs require 4 characters max for ACARS programs. Gateway should be cleaned of these and other fictitious IDs.
This XC0001 Hurds Lake Waterdrom is not a fictious seaplane base, if you bother to search Skyvector you'll find it as CNL6 on the north east end of Hurds Lake in eastern Ontario Canada. I had tried to use but was unable to in wed and CNL6 was deprecated. Back when I created it I was unaware that you could add a Local Code which is the Canadian call sing CNL6
I am aware of these airports being real Once again a misunderstanding of what I wrote. The airports are real that I point out, the XCxxxx is not and it screws up most all addon acars, flight planning and ACARS systems. That is my point. Grt rid of those IDs
