On Tumbleweed, WED seems to have an issue not being able to find certain default objs, even though I have verified that they exist. which results in validation error's. I have no issue loading into the scenery with these objs exported by other people and the lights do appear in sim.
Seems to be distro specific as this error doesnt occur on fedora.
Open wed in my case Opensuse Tumbleweed with kde, create a new folder and import egll error signs appear especially around the maint area.
X-Plane 12.1.2-r4-0f2fea01
WED 2.6.0r2

I do not think this is Linux distribution specific, its likely an issue with your scenery or the file system.
Please post the WED_Log.txt as well as a directory listing of the toplevel of that custom scenery.
I had similar reports from users that created symbolic links to directly expose Laminar library internals as local objects in their sceneries. This causes the (partially lower case) path names internally to the libraries to superceed the upper case vpaths defined for these very objects in the libraries.
Another issue can be created when running the Linux version of WED on a case insensitive file system, but this should not create this particular validation error. The WED_Log.txt will also shed some light on this.
