sixpants reported issue XSG-10373: Break in runway - causes pl... on May 19, 2020 12:52 PM

I'm a total newbie to all this. And I honestly just don't have time or desire to learn the scenery editor. I barely have time to tinker with XPlane betweeln work, kids, life (enough excuses yet?)

Nonetheless, I humbly solicit help to correct a minor issue. Runway 02 at 3G3 has a break in it... like an earthquake caused a fracture in the runway.

Yeah, it's a pathetic little local airport but it's my local airport and I always fly out of it (because I'm boring and make all my flights real-life). I'm sure it's a 2 second fix for you experts.

I appreciate your time and consideration!
Brian

Ok Jillian. I thought I was submitting this to a public forum of sorts. But I see this is just circling back to you again. Sorry... just not figuring out the logic of this process yet. Not often that a private for-profit entity defers it's tech support to 3rd parties so honestly the process baffles me a bit but I'm working it as instructed.

Disregard. I confused the automated response for the prior response I got from T.Meeks on this issue. Trying to rush before I have to go to work and it shows.

Looks like a scenery mesh tile tearing issue.

    Hi Brian,

I looked at this issue again. Julian is right, two tiles of scenery join right at the airport (at the latitude of 41 degrees north). Sometimes this causes a “rift” as the two tiles have slightly different elevations. I have uploaded a fixed version for this airport - as a side-effect of this fix it will be completely flat, with no undulations of the runways at all.

This fix will become active with the next scenery injection into Xplane (hopefully soon).
