The old Aerosoft custom airport EDDS was not removed for XP10.35b1 - now it displays as a "double airport" alongside the new EDDS (scenery pack 2080). Please remove the Aerosoft airport.
Dear Sir,
I have this issue with the current version of EDDS:
For the runways 07/25, I do not have a centerline lighting.
The WED tool confirms my observation.
Can you please tell me the reason for the missing centerline lighting?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Jens
I will doublecheck EDDS to see if this was accidentially disabled. I will overhaul the airport for XP11 anyway (add ground vehicle tracks), so it might be a little bit.

I doublechecked, and I think that 44919 is ok and has the necessary surfaces. They are not regular taxiway but .pols that reside in the .dsf, maybe that caused the report of them missing... What IS missing is the centerline lights, and I will add them for the XP11 version.
No problems. I noticed the taxiway lines issue and Thiught this would be a quick fix. However the airport underwent a Major change over 4 years ago that is not apparent from using wedomaker which has the area blocked. So it has sort of grown into a major revamp using Google photos and YouTube vids. Regards Ron.
EDDS ILS Runway 25 is off a bit. The ILS course does not coincide with the runway centerline (a bit to the right) and the glidepath is too low, which leads you way below the ideal glidepath and lets you hit the clearway before beginning of the runway.
checked the runway centreline alignment - looks perfect. Vertical glidepath unchecked. Cannot be changed by mere mortals like artists! This airport is one of the 11.3 updated airports so half of the problem should be solved if not both
I just flew an autopilot coupled approach to 50 feet (ILS 25 EDDS) in 11.30r2 - and the ILS (LOC+GS) could not be aligned any better. Also - great job on that airport, Ron!
Cheers, Jan
using updated navdata (in the Custom Data folder) SHOULD not have any effects on the ILS installations (LOC and GS). That data is in the earth_nav.dat which is in Custom Scenery/global airports/earth nav data. It always overrides any other ILS data.
Thanks for the clarification. Is there a way to verify that the earth nav data is the original one and not been overwritten somehow? Will it be replaced by the X-Plane installer?
Yes, it will be overwritten by the installer if you let it run again. It will detect that it was altered or replaced and ask if you want to overwrite it with the original one. I sometimes replace it with an updated Navigraph file to test where the official-data ILS installations are (but I make a backup copy first). If you ever find wrong or outdated ILS data, you can file a bug report on the Scenery Gateway (choose the NAVAID) tab.
Cheers, Jan

Ben Supnik removed the Aerosoft Airport, so this issue can be closed.

The EDDS taxiway centerlines are not nicely connected. Please see the attachment. Thanks a lot for trying to improve the design.

working on this . Most taxiway centreline joins not made

Thanks for taking this on – I missed this when I recently redid the scenery.

Ok. Currently I am using navigraph airac 1813 for the navdata. Does it influence ILS data as well or is that a different data source?

Note: updated GA area/Ramp 65 based on (georeferenced) AIP data. See https://aip.dfs.de/BasicIFR/2024MAY16/pages/F8D363546D32D7B9981FAB2117239D6E.html Available satellite images are outdated.
My Airbus is jumping during the takeoff roll.
I am sure that this is not realistic.
Can this be fixed via the mesh (i.e. without the flatten option) ?
Thanks a lot!
jfs August 22, 2024 2:36 AM
The waves cause my Airbus to jump multiple times during the takeoff roll.
Jan Vogel August 28, 2024 3:10 PM
No, it can´t. A future version of Xplane will likely have a finer grained mesh that will reduce this effect.
@volk1102 pls 'undo' what i did at the GA parking and number the spots, i.e. GA 1 to GA 99. it's needed for X-Plane's ATC for assigning parking spots.
